Two people were killed and dozens, including several policemen, were injured on Friday when supporters of a radical Islamist party clashed with police while attempting to stage a protest outside the US Consulate in Lahore, Pakistan. The city came to a standstill as violent confrontations erupted between police and members of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), who had planned to march to Islamabad to protest against Israel’s actions in Gaza.
